| Hi, my name is Billie and I am an alcoholic and an addict. I grew up with alcoholic parents. I became just like my them, staying loaded and in and out of abusive relationships. I kept switching from drug to drug until I had final been driven to my knees. I had nothing left and became homeless with only the clothes on my back. Once again I was on my knees but this time I was crying out for God to help me because I was so tired and just couldn’t do it anymore. A counselor at this shelter talked to me about a website where I could find a sponsor, he said I should give it a try....so I did, I had nothing else to loose, right? Within a week I found my sponsor, we really clicked. Shortly after that I went to my first AA meeting and I am happy...more
